Get off to a healthy start

Get off to a healthy start

Who hasn’t heard the saying; “you are what you eat?” And then wished it was easier to eat healthy?

Well it can be easier than you think if you stick to the basics.

The basics begin by starting the day off on the right track.  The best way to do this is with a tasty breakfast. This doesn’t mean having the same old cereal day after day or getting up early to prepare a feast.

Minimum effort can produce a different start every day, for example a poached egg on wholemeal toast is ready in under 5 minutes, and in even less time you could be dunking soldiers into an oozing soft boiled egg yolk.

But if you prefer cereal you can still mix it up, add some yogurt and fruit juice to oats before bed time and wake up to some yummy bircher muesli. Or toast some oats, nuts and honey, to make a granola, this will keep in a sealed container for 10 days and is perfect sprinkled over fruit or cereal in the morning.

Whatever your choice, always try to include lots of fibre or fruit to make sure your day gets off to a healthy start.
